About this event

Please join us on Thursday, February 15 from 12 -1 p.m. for our annual Step Up Virtual Employer Kick-Off event! The theme this year is “Looking to the Future: the Next 20 years of Step Up", and we are excited to share how Step Up prepares young people and Twin Cities employers for the next generation of work, as well as celebrate our partners who’ve been with us through the past 20 years. We hope you can join us!

Our presenters include Step Up co-chairs Jonathan Weinhagen, President and CEO of the Minneapolis Regional Chamber and R.T. Rybak, President and CEO of the Minneapolis Foundation. Recent Step Up alumni Nura Bile and Simon Noble join us to talk about the impact of Step Up on their career paths, and you’ll also hear from Alanna Baker, VP of Digital Partnerships and New Business at Target, Torrey Lau, Director of Academic Excellence at Reve Academy, and Jake Wollensack, Associate at Wold Architects and Engineers about the great benefits of the program for their organizations.

Founded in 2003, Step Up provides work readiness training, paid internships and online career exploration opportunities for Minneapolis youth ages 14-21. As an employer, participating in Step Up means being part of one of the largest and most enduring cross-sector employer networks in our region. Through Step Up, businesses, schools, public agencies and nonprofits are making a collective commitment to the future of our community and our young people.

It's more important now than ever to invest in the young talent that will power our region for decades to come. Don’t miss this inspiring and informative event – register today!
